    Save Your Money!

I just take about 20% of my income for each month and put that towards savings. It has served me well and come in handy in times of need.

        Smartest way to Save..

The very best method to saving money is to create a Spending Plan or a Budget. With a budget you figure out what your income is and what your expenses are. Once you know these two things, you can look for ways to reduce your expenses or increase your income to allocate an amount of money that you can afford to save.

Find a cheap hobby, like reading, hiking, singing, bird watching, drawing, learning a foreign language.

Turn a hobby into an income, E.g. if you like to take photos, try selling your services as a portrait or wedding photographer, or sell your photos to stock photo sites. If you like woodworking, sell your services to do simple furniture or home repairs.

Take something you spend money on and turn it into a hobby. E.g. If you spend money on wine and enjoy drinking it, start to make your own wine (a former co-worker of mine did this and really enjoyed it, plus he saved money by giving his homemade wine as gifts on holidays).

Don't add to your "must pay" total every month. E.g. don't sign up for cell phone contracts. Don't take on a loan to buy a car. Buy only what you can afford to pay for in cash.

Don't watch ads on TV, magazines or the internet. If you don't see the latest gizmo or car, you won't covet it.
