Lots of us keep track of our net worth. But your net worth is not simply a "score" in life -- like any measure, it has a real practical meaning. What do you all think? Any other suggestions on how to "use" your net worth? Ratios of wealth to income? Spending to income? Etc.?

Are You Keeping Track of Your Net Worth For the Right Reasons

You ask if we're tracking it for the right reasons, but then never mention what the right reasons are (the last paragraph hints at it, but no more), much less the wrong reasons.
Your Net Worth is Not Your “Score” In Life — Financial or Otherwise
Of course it's a score!! Mr. Hanoi Jane is occasionally right, and this is one of those times: "Life is a game. Money is how we keep score."
That doesn't mean that I'm playing against my neighbor, though. The thought of telling them our net worth is absurd.
My spouse and I -- really, "just me", since she cares just enough to not want to fall back in CC debt -- are playing against ourselves.
