Charles Schwab's new ETF's

Has anyone looked into their new commission free ETF's? They look to have lower expense ratios than those from Vanguard. I've been researching ETF's and just stumbled onto these. I hate to pay commissions and thought this may be something to try.

Any thoughts???

Read a blurb about it elsewhere. Sounds like a good deal, although I haven't looked into it. I think those already with Schwab and have an investment strategy that involves ETFs should definitely consider it. Otherwise, the difference in ER isn't enough to jump ship. Offering free trades is pretty sweet though.

No but I will certainly look into it. I have a daughter who is interested in buying into the market but she doesn't have a lot of money. This might be an inexpensive way to get in the market. Thanks for the tip.

They are definately cheap! I think this bodes well for the industry and etfs in particular.

I recently purchased Vanguard ETF's and they are charging me $20 a pop per transaction. I was very dissapointed to find out about these fees. However, their ETF selection is excellent.

Just a thought. My wife and I use T Rowe Price for her IRA. They have a lot of mutual funds that are good. If you choose one mutual fund you can contribute as little as $50/month with an automatic plan. It costs $10 a year until you have 5k in the account. That is an inexpensive way to get into the market with little capital and T Rowe's website and customer service is top class.
