This is 2 rolls of Mercury dimes (paid $237). It's filthy and wil be cleaning it with the baking soda & foil method later.

Full dates just means that the dates can be seen (ie, 1919, 1925, 1930, etc). As compared to "cull" coins where the dates may be worn out and not legible. The baking soda & foil method uses aluminum foil, baking soda, and hot water poured over the dirty coins. It works wonderfully to clean the coins.

The same 100 mercury dimes from the above pic, but now cleaned by lining a 9" fry pan w/aluminum foil & boiling water and 1 box of baking soda. After the water cools down each dime was scrubbed individually with a tootbrush until the black deposits were removed. Took me about 1 hour but I'm impressed with the results.

If you’re buying strictly for the silver value, is there a reason to clean them? Does it change their resale value?Steve

Debating on buying this lot of 40% silver half dollars but I don't really want this much. I messaged the seller if he'd sell 100 (not all 250) at the same $3.60 per coin but he said sorry no can do. The good thing about this would be no taxes. On eBay 1 coin sells for about $5 and tax will be added.

Thanks for the correction scfr. I only mentioned eBay to make a price comparison where eBay is $5 per coin plus tax. Offer Up is similar to Craigslist where I would have to meet the seller in person and pay with cash so not tax would be added at $3.60 per coin. I would be safe and meet at a shopping center since I'd be carrying $900. I would also check each coin's date but 250 coins would take a long time. With all these things to keep in mind I am not wanting to make this purchase.
