  • Any planned expenses for Black Friday?

I havent shopped on black friday in probably 10 years. This year however im going to be buying a pair of speakers from best buy and 5 horse stall mats from tractor supply (thick rubber mats people use in home gyms.) All in its going to cost me around $700.

No. We never shop based on a certain day or season or promotion. We shop when we need something.

That said, we have shopped on Black Friday on occasion but not until later in the day after all of the crazies have gone home. By about 3pm, the stores are usually pretty normal.

Maybe $20 for a case of beer for that night after I get back from hunting.

Some items aren't at their lowest price on Black Friday. They trick you into thinking things are on sale (35 to 50% OFF!), but it's really the same price it has always been.

Excluding door busters, which are usually low-end items I have no interest in any ways.

I've gone out on Black Friday around 9am and a lot of the stores (incl Best Buy) weren't overly crowded.

Cyber Monday may have better deals and less stress.

I don't plan most of my purchases; I buy things as I need/want them.

It's surprising how constant our credit card bill is (when vacation spending and rental repairs are taken out); only maybe 3 or 4 times a year when there's a large discretionary purchase. Whether it's black Friday season or whatever, our spending seems to be about the same each month.

I'm staying at a hotel in the middle of nowhere Thanksgiving weekend, so just the cost of the room and trinkets. I'm almost done shopping for my immediate family and can't do anything else until my husband's family sends in their lists, so I don't plan on shopping. Depending on the sales, I might drive to the Walmart that is supposedly 20 mins away, or a Verizon store if there is a good sale. I need phones for the family, so I'm hoping for a decent sale. I really haven't seen anything good so far with the ads that are released. I have been buying things here and there using camelcamelcamel so I can see if I'm getting a good deal.

Sadly, our tv seems like it is about to bite the dust. I plan on waiting until closer to the Superbowl to buy if my tv holds out that long.

I had so many items in my online carts go up in price on BF, even with their coupon codes, that I just don't care about BF anymore. It took the fun right out of it. I have noticed that prices were cheaper a few days before Thanksgiving for the past two years on almost everything I needed to buy.

We don't really need anything besides a new mattress, is Black Friday a good time to look at some mattresses?

I have been wanting an e-reader for a couple of years now. If I can find a Kindle PaperWhite cheap enough, I will buy it. Not in a store, though. I do not want one nearly bad enough to venture to a store during peak shopping season.
