  • Coffee drinkers question?

Just curious which brands of coffee people drink & how much one spends. Do you drink more than one cup a day? Do you brew your own, use Keurig, Nespresso, or buy a cup of joe from Starbucks or the likes. For me I drink one cup a day and brew my own Starbucks grind, one cup at a time. I like expresso roast decaf, bold, strong, and black. A 12 oz bag costs about $13 and lasts about one month. To further break down that cost per day, 0.43 cents per day times 30 days equals $13.

Green tea and black tea drinker here. No coffee. Always from home unless it's a girls' day out where I might splurge on one at Pete's. Not sure of the actual cost per cut, but pennies. I buy in bulk from a local Asian food store.

Brew my own at home. Currently using a Mr. Coffee. I make a 12c pot every 3-4 days. Just nuke on the non-brew days.

Be very aware; Coffee prices are about to SKY ROCKET due to a VERY poor harvest in Brazil. I did not NEED coffee this week but a store in my area had Hills on sale for $6 and I had a $1 coupon. With the vaccumm sealing coffee will last a long time. Once opened I keep 2/3 in fridge or freezer to stay fresh longer.

Costco sells a 3 pound bag of their columbian beans (I always grind for fresh taste) for $14.89. This lasts us about 3 to 4 weeks. I keep 3 spare bags on hand.

I would give up bathing before coffee.

It all tastes the same to me. At home I use cheap instant coffee. When out I will get coffee pretty much anywhere, and I always just get plain drip and add half and half myself. Sometimes I drink it every day, and sometimes I go a month between. Never mote than one small serving a day though.

We buy Costco [Kirkland] beans and grind a few days worth at a time. I usually have one cup and what's left over when DH has filled his travel mug. I think those hold about two cups. We have tea in the afternoon. We've still got several flavoured coffee packs that were Christmas, Valentine and St Patrick's day gifts. I mix a few tablespoons of Hazelnut flavoured coffee with regular and add a shot of liqueur when he have friends for Sunday dinner. We use them primarily for iced coffee in the summer.

Costco Kirkland brand unless a better quality coffee bean is on sale.

I have an espresso machine and a French Press. I usually drink 2 large cups per day.

If I am at home I usually have organic worker friendly beans on hand. I pay about 10 dollars for half a pound and it lasts me usually about 2-3 weeks. I make half a pot in the morning and have usually finished it by the end of the day. If there is any left I will drink it in the morning.

If I am at work I have some instant organic worker friendly stuff that cost 7 dollars for a small jar (don't know how big) and that usually lasts me about 2 months. I probably have about 2 big cups of coffee there. I keep a box of Keurig capsules at work for when I have clients visit, but otherwise I think they are pointlessly expensive.

My family will usually go out and have 'coffee' when we are out on the weekend (we don't go out to eat very much, not worth it for us with two kids), but we do like to go out and get a cafe latte for the grownups and a nice baked treat for everyone. Then it is a bit more expensive than home brewed, but still cheaper than if we went out for an entire meal.

If I'm out, McDonalds is my first coffee choice.

I use a Keurig & typically buy the Green Mountain brand K-Cups. Expensive yes, but I'm not a daily coffee drinker so a box tends to last a few months --- not a week.

I buy pre-ground bags of Starbucks when they are on sale I prefer the dark roasts. When the bags are empty I take them in for a free coffee.

I sometimes drink chai tea instead, I rotate between 3 brands of the tea bags and when I run out I buy which ever one is on sale or the cheapest.

I prefer iced drinks to hot ones, and need soy milk so this saves a lot of money. It also seems to taste better when its from home. Starbucks tends to use a lot a sweeteners and I rarely sweeten my coffee at home.

When making iced coffee I cold-brew and use a french press to strain it.

Pretty much this. I buy 3 lb bags of whole bean San Francisco Bay French Roast for $~21. I grind fresh every morning with a burr coffee grinder. I usually drink 2-3 cups per day - sometimes on the weekend I'll use a french press.

I go through about 1.5 lbs of coffee per month, so that is $10 per month. I would definitely try to shave $10 off my water bill before quitting coffee

Switched to tea because the caffeine in coffee was causing issues, like anxiety attacks. But tea is also wayyyy cheaper than coffee. A bag of black tea is a few pennies.
