Congratulations! I just reached zero credit card debt this week and I am going to draw another $6000 next month. The cycle is exactly one year and it repeats for 3 years already. Some day I will be saving too .
Congrats on being debt free (even if it is just for the time being).
I've been feeling good lately. I have $1000 wired from each bi-weekly paycheck going to an ing account...so I don't even have to think about saving at all. I just manage what is left within each paycheck.
Nice going! I can't imagine how good it feels to be that deep into a 5-figure savings goal!
I'm alllllllmost at my 6-month EF goal ($9k), and after that will start focusing on the next two big savings goals:
- Down payment fund
- Engagement ring fund
Out of curiosity, because I know nothing about it . . . is there really "high end" makeup? Whats the cost difference in high end makeup and regular-jane makeup?

There is "high end" of pretty much anything you can think of from make-up to cars to olive oil to musical instruments, and the differences between the normal stuff and the high priced stuff is often more perception and status than anything else. Either that, or it is a difference that only people highly trained and specialized would ever notice.

* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.
Make-up costs can get pretty ridiculous.. But there is def a difference in quality.. I usually choose median ones, somewhere between air brush and orange..
Yeah...cosmetic counters in department stores can be pretty pricey. It could be the difference between buying a $35 mascara and a $5 one that you replace every few months...and that is just one type of cosmetic.
I got a little raise, but I have been spending it rather than saving it...it keeps me sane and I know I already have a great savings plan in place.
Congratulations! That is quite an accomplishment - $20,000 seems like a real milestone.
PS - Yes, there is a difference between the cheap makeup and the pricier stuff. I tend to go with the mid-range level (although if I were a higher earner I would splurge for the more expensive).
Hey, congrats!! I currently have 6 months gross salary saved in cash, but I am seriously considering bumping that up to 1 year with the economy being what it is. I can't decide if it would be better to pay down debt or to save more cash. Each have their pros and cons.
Although I can't comment on makeup I will say this.....Congrats an a great accomplishment!! I have a feeling you're going to be our next millionaire next door.
