I use to play basketball for one hour at every weekend and use to walk every day for 15 to 20 min. But I am not satisfied with this much and planning to add more stuffs.

Actually I posted that a while ago. I got 355 for 2 reps yesterday.

Not really waiting for a chance, but I am pretty proud of my achievement if that's what you were asking.

For years, I have been running, hiking or cross country skiing (depending on the weather and the season) for about an hour ever day. Just in the last few months, I've added an hour each day (4 to 5 days a week) of strength training, and I can't believe the difference it has made. I look better, feel better, and I have so much more endurance for the other sports I like to do. A great use of 4 or 5 hours a week!

I believe 30 minutes is the minimum recommended amount of exercise you should be getting. I usually do five days a week for an hour. I sleep a lot better when I get some good physical activity throughout the day.

The amount is relative to your activity level and your goal.

For example, 30 minutes of walking around a mall isn't the same as 30 minutes of HIIT sprinting.

Also, as others have mentioned, it also depends on what you're after. Are you just trying to lower your cholestrol, or are you trying to train for the Ironman competition?

30 minutes/day is pretty good. I usually get to the gym a minimum of 3 times/week for atleast on hour for weight training and try for an additional 2 times/week for cardio.

                      5 days a week

Most doctors recommend 30 minutes of exercise, 5 days a week.

                        Exrcise tips

                        Hello!
There are lot of ways to stay healthy and fit. For most healthy adults, the Department of Health and Human Services recommends these exercise guidelines:
You are get at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity.
You also can do a combination of moderate and vigorous activity. As a general goal, aim for at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.

                          Reply must. Thanks in advance.
30 minutes of exercise is enough for me. Since I only walk to work, walking is another form of exercise so I see 30minutes is not a bad start.

Lately (for many months) I have been a lazy, lazy girl and my weight went up to 169lbs and my height is 5'2" - I am obviously overweight for my height. Before, I am only 128lbs.

My friend who is crazy over exercise, health and fitness stuff advised me to at least do brisk walking for 30mins a day - that can increase my metabolism rate and at least keep me fit.

What I did was I bought myself an elliptical (it has been with me for exactly a week now) and also wear a waist trimmer whenever I do my elliptical training (in order to produce more sweat). The first 3days was very hard for me to go on it for 15mins straight with a very very light resistance on the machine and in that 15min exercise on the elliptical, I took numerous in between breaks. After that, I found myself on it good for 30 mins with minimum of 3 breaks interval of every 10mins and in a weeks time, from 168lbs, my weight went down to 165lbs - it's crazy! Now, I am even more determined to raise my elliptical exercise to an hour but I don't want to push my limits but will be taking baby steps for this.

I do about 20 mins for cardio. No running or any of that. I lost a lot of weight and now I lift weights and each session last about 45 mins.
