  • Join The 52 Week Savings Challenge!

Are you looking for a way to save $1000 for an emergency fund? We have put together a Yahtzee style weekly savings plan that covers a year and will save you over $1300 if you can complete it. You can read all the details about it here. Your can print the 52 week challenge for here (pdf).

This area has been set up for those that are participating in the challenge to get support, share ways they have saved and encourage others to join in. We encourage you to join and to share with friends and family so they can join too. By working together, sharing ideas, and encouraging each other, we can set up a system to help those who want to build their savings account.

Those that want to participate can join the challenge at any time. All that you need to do is pick a day of the week when you will make the deposit and begin. The first thing to do is announce that you are participating in the challenge by saying so below in the comments. One of the best ways to keep yourself accountable is to announce to others what you plan to do -- so publicly announcing that you are going to do this challenge is a great first step.

The next step is to create your challenge thread. Create a thread in this section where you can write about how your challenge is going and others can comment, support, ask questions and help you keep on tract.

The last step is to encourage others to join. The more people that are doing it, the more support everyone has to keep the challenge going. if you know of anyone that is in need of an emergency fund, this is a great place for them to come and begin.

Last, but not least, enjoy the learning process. This challenge, like all things, will probably entail both successes and mistakes along the way. it's a learning process and mistakes only become failures if you don't learn from them. Help those that seem to be struggling and share all the new ideas you get along the way to help others out.

I am starting this tomorrow. My goal is to start at 52 and work backward, reserving the right to do the yatzee thing if needed

I'm in! I've never had an emergency fund and have never been good at saving, so this really will be a challenge. But I am motivated and I hope I can succeed!

OK, I think I'm going to give this a shot. I'm a little nervous, but anything I can save will be good in the long run. I'll post my first week's numbers next week and I hope that I can do well.

I have decided to do this challenge as well. Seeing those who have already started is quite inspirational. I'll have my first amount next week.

Is it too late to join in? I am in need of some accountability.

One of the great advantages of this system is that you can join at any time. There is no absolute start or end date. Feel free to join at any time.
