It's a mix of credit card & cash.
Aldi charge 1% to use a credit card, so I pay in cash, because we do not have any normal bank cards without a Visa or Mastercard stamp. I have been meaning to work out if the 1% could be worth it (see below) but I haven't yet, so to be on the safe side I pay in cash until I can work out the figures.
Our fresh fruit and vege store only accept cash.
and lastly all other grocery expenses (supermarket and butcher) we use our CC, because:
1) it's a reward scheme CC and
2) we keep all our money in an account which offsets from our mortgage, and the CC balance is always due two days after the interest is calculated, so it's win-win.
